Education Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal addresses students about JEE 2021 dates and other details at 7 pm on Tuesday. The education ministry had been planning to announce its decision on the JEE 2021 and NEET 2021 exams for some time now.
“JEE Main third session will be held from July 20 to 25 and the fourth session which was earlier scheduled to be held in May will be held from July 27 to August 2,” said Ramesh Pokhriyal.
Pokhriyal announced his decision to go live with important JEE Main information on his Twitter handle.
“Dear students, the moment you had been waiting for a long time is here. Today, at 7:00 pm, I will make you all aware of the information related to the 3rd and 4th stage examination of #JEE,” he wrote earlier on Tuesday.
About JEE 2021 and NEET 2021
The NEET-UG 2021 date has been scheduled for August 1 but that is likely to be changed after the review.
JEE is being conducted four times a year for the first time to provide flexibility to students. The JEE Main April and May exams for 2021 had also been postponed back in April due to the surge in Covid-19 cases.
Students have been demanding a final decision for many days now and many are demanding a cancellation of the two major entrance exams in India.
According to PTI, the Ministry of Education was contemplating whether to conduct the pending editions of JEE Mains in July and August or not and whether the medical entrance exam NEET can be shifted to September or not.
“The pending editions of JEE Mains are likely to be conducted either at the end of July or August with a fortnight’s gap between the two tests. NEET is likely to be pushed to September,” a source said, reported by PTI in late June.
