NEET result 2021 latest news live: National Testing Agency (NTA) will soon announce the results for NEET-UG 2021 exam. The Supreme Court stayed the Bombay High Court’s recent order asking the NTA not to declare the NEET results and conduct re-examination for two aspirants whose question papers and OMR sheets had got mixed up at a centre in Maharashtra.

The exam was conducted on September 12 and over 16 lakh students appeared in the medical entrance test. The result will be declared on the official website – neet.nta.nic.in.

The result of NEET will be announced in the form of a scorecard and details related to score, percentile score, cut-off, all India rank, etc are mentioned on the scorecard. Admission in the undergraduate medical courses in India is granted based on the rank secured in NEET-UG exam.

Once the NEET UG 2021 result has been declared, the national and state-level counselling authorities will conduct counselling. MCC holds counselling to fill 15 per cent of all India quota seats, whereas, rest of the 85 per cent seats are filled via state counselling.

This year, the number of cities where the examination is conducted was increased from 155 to 202. The number of examination centres was also be increased from 3,862 used in 2020. In a first, the exam was also held at a centre each in Dubai and Kuwait.

Medical aspirants perplexed as wait for result continues

After the SC’s go ahead to declared the NEET-UG results on Thursday, aspirants took a sigh of relief expecting the result to be announced in a day or two. However, there has been no notification yet released on the result declaration by the NTA. As the agency informed SC that the results are ready to be announced, it is likely that the NEET UG 2021 results can be declared anytime now.

How are NEET UG results prepared by NTA?

NTA will prepare the all India merit list on the basis of cut-off and marks secured by the candidate. Those who will score more than the cut-off will become eligible for 15 per cent of all India quota counselling. In 15 per cent All India Quota shall only be filled based on NEET 2021 rank and as per the statutory regulation of MCI/NMC/DCI. For the admission to 85 per cent, the states shall conduct individual counselling.

Tamil Nadu Health Minister Ma. Subramanian has said the State government has sought the approval of the Medical Council of India (MCI) to add 800 more MBBS seats this year. The Minister said the MCI had already granted permission to admit 850 students in the MBBS course in seven new medical colleges in the State.

NEET 2021 records to be preserved for 90 days

The record of National Eligibility cum Entrance Test NEET (UG)-2021 would be preserved only up to 90 days from the date of declaration of result. All disputes pertaining to the conduct of the NEET (UG) – 2021 examination including results shall fall within the jurisdiction of Delhi/New Delhi only. Further, any legal question arising out of the examination shall be entertained only when raised within 30 days from the declaration of result.

Category-wise cut-off percentile for NEET 2021

NTA has already announced the cut-off percentile for NEET 2021. For the General and General EWS category, it is 50th percentile. Whereas, for SC /ST/ OBC it is 40th percentile. However, with respect to candidates from the Person with Disability, the cut-off is 45th percentile for unreserved category and Gen-EWS candidates and 40th percentile for SC /ST/ OBC-NCL candidates.

No provision for re-evaluation of answer sheets

There is no provision for re-checking/re-evaluation of the answer sheets. This is because of the following reasons: 1) The OMRs are machine gradable which are being evaluated through specific software impartial to all. 2) The candidates are given an opportunity to make the representation on the OMR gradation of their OMR sheets and also given an opportunity to challenge the answer key in case of any doubt.

Admission to AFMC, Pune shall be subject to the norms prescribed by the Directorate General of Armed Forces Medical Services, Ministry of Defence, Government of India. Candidates who apply for NEET (UG) – 2021 and/or for seeking admission in AFMC also need to apply to AFMC on www.afmc.nic.in/www.afmcdg1d.gov.in. The shortlisted candidates will be required to appear for a second stage screening test conducted by AFMC.
